Wild West Weekend

all new & exiting program

“Bringing History Alive”

with Dirty Kettle

Howdy campers, we always have a rootin’ tootin’ good time Wild West weekend here at Indian Trails. The day starts out right with a free flapjack breakfast to satisfy everyone’s appetite before the Wild West games began. Robbers Bingo is fun to play until your prize gets robbed.  Kids 12 and under love panning for gold in the brook and get to keep the gold they find.

Join us this year from August 26-28, 2011 as we add a new exciting program called

“Bringing History Alive”.

In true Native American tradition,

you will be the honored guests of Dirty Kettle, a mountain man who has come west to take advantage of the fur trade. Dirty Kettle shows us his home, a 16 foot teepee that replicates one used by the Cheyenne Plains Indians in the early 1800’s.

Gather up the kids to watch a great show featuring Windell Peter Snodgrasz and Buddy Big Mountain seen at the 12th Annual Native American Music Awards ~ Ventriloquist.  The kids are going to have a great time at the show.  Windell and Buddy at the NAMMYs

Listen as Dirty Kettle plays his flutes and drums. You’ll be invited to play traditional Native American drums and join in traditional Native dances in a Drum Circle Ceremony. Dirty Kettle (Herb Heck) will be joined by many of his friends to entertain you.

Buffalo Big Mountain a Comanche Mohawk American Indian will be doing a whip and dance demonstration. This will be the most authentic Wild West Weekend ever at Indian Trails.
