Pirate Weekend was welcomed for the second year now and it has been such a big hit that we are having two, that’s right, two Pirate Weekends in 2009. We started out the action packed Saturday with a pirate hat craft for kids followed by the buried treasure hunt. Our annual craft show was also set up with some great homemade crafts. The greatly anticipated and ever so popular cardboard boat race was in the afternoon. We had double the amount of boats from last year that we divided the competition into two sections. Boats that were going to be raced only by kids and then boats that were raced with by an adult. Thank you to everyone who built a boat and raced in it. We finished the night off with Karoake. There were some great singers out in the crowd. Be sure to make reservations for one of the two pirate weekends as you won’t want to miss out on all the fun. There are a few new things in the works for pirate activities this year. The first pirate weekend is July 31st-August 2nd and will include the annual craft show. The second pirate weekend is scheduled for August 7th-9th. Karaoke is scheduled for both weekends.
